Job Teaching Assistant, Newcastle upon Tyne

Are you a dedicated and enthusiastic Level 3 Qualified Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in a Key Stage 1 classroom? We are currently recruiting passionate TAs to support local primary schools across Newcastle.

You’ll play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning, helping children reach their full potential in a nurturing and engaging environment.

• Support the class teacher in delivering high-quality lessons and activities for KS1 pupils.

• Provide targeted support to individual pupils and small groups.

• Assist with classroom preparation, resource organisation, and behaviour management.

• Foster a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning atmosphere.

• Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff to ensure pupil progress and wellbeing.

• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) – essential.

• Experience supporting pupils in a KS1 setting preferred.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Full-time availability Monday to Friday (8:30am–3:30pm).

• Access to your own vehicle and willingness to travel between schools if required.

• A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).

• A variety of day-to-day and long-term roles to suit your availability and preferences.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
