DevOps Engineer – Newcastle upon Tyne

• Automate and maintain infrastructure and environment provisioning.

• Own and manage the Continuous Integration (CI) infrastructure.

• Develop monitoring and diagnostic solutions for systems and applications.

• Deliver automation solutions for internal users to improve efficiency and reliability.

• Strong scripting ability in PowerShell or another scripting language.

• Experience coding in C#, Java, or Python (background as a developer or strong coding competency).

• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Ansible or Terraform .

• Knowledge of containerisation (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes or Docker Swarm).

• Experience with monitoring tools (ELK Stack, Grafana, or similar).

• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines , ideally using TeamCity .

• Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server .

• Windows and Linux administration experience.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Minimum 2:1 degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, ideally from a Russell Group University .

• Minimum AAB at A-level (or equivalent).

• Experience with Atlassian tools (Bitbucket, JIRA).

• Artifact storage (Artifactory).

• Octopus Deploy experience.

• Familiarity with static analysis tools (SonarQube).

• Control-M or similar job scheduling tools.

• Cloud platform experience (Azure, AWS, or GCP).

• Knowledge of VMware (vSphere) and SAN storage technologies.

• Financial services experience is a plus but not essential.
